The University of Westminster wanted to do more to support their researcher community. They wanted easy to access records about research activity and to streamline administration for researchers. The university selected Haplo Research Manager to provide a comprehensive virtual research environment which could be used by researchers and research administrators throughout the university.
With support from the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research, Haplo worked collaboratively with the university’s researchers and administrators to implement a solution to solve ‘pain points’ throughout the research lifecycle.
The university was concerned about lack of visibility of research activity, the burden of administration, and particularly lack of support for managing Doctoral Researchers.
Haplo Research Manager provided an extensive suite of functionality to support PhD candidates throughout their research lifecycle, providing visibility for supervisors, faculty and the Graduate School on the progress of each PhD candidate.
To support good research governance, Haplo Research Manager provides online ethics applications and streamlined review and approval of applications, removing the considerable overhead of managing ethics approval applications.
The outputs from a research project: papers, presentations, data, are managed through the same integrated system. Researchers enjoy a single, simple interface for submitting details of outputs, which are forwarded to the university repository team for review before publication.
The university benefits from greater visibility of research and easier reporting of every aspect of research activity.
